New Shoes! (For Him)

New Balance 1123

Yes, it is that time of year I guess. I got my new shoes for the season, so my significant other got his new shoes as well. Because he tends to pronate, I couldn't convince him to stay with the Asics Kayanos (my shoe of choice). So, after much searching (and I emphasize MUCH) he decided on the New Balance 1123 because of rollbar -- a special stability feature that helps with motion control, and enhances rear foot stability. It is supposed to help with the pronation, and so far there have been no complaints. So we will see! So far so good!

New Shoes! (For Her)

Asics Gel Kayano 15

It's new shoe time! I have to admit, even though I am now on what I believe is my fourth or fifth pair of Asics Kayanos, it is still just as exciting going on that first run with your new pair of shoes.

While I would have to admit that I am no shoe expert, these shoes are great. I believe that I have a normal pronation, and these shoes just have the best combination of support and cushion. These are actually the shoes that I trained for and ran my first half marathon in. And no complaints by me. And, being the girl that I am, I also love the colors that they come in. These shoes get 5 starts by me!

The Brentwood Run

Staying active in Brentwood really isn't that much of a challenge. One of my favorite weekly workouts is a simple run down San Vicente. The Brentwood Run is a yearly race which takes advantage of the gorgeous coral tree lined route down San Vicente. On June 7th, I departed from my solo run down San Vicente and joined the throngs of people making the loops down San Vicente. Just another great way to stay active in LA!!
